Some of you may have had the same experience as Jos Biggs !! Read on. Someone should take those internet sites that offer ‘One click ordering’ to court for massive misrepresentation - there is no such thing! Si the cat needs her Feliway Friends plug-ins to keep her from disintegrating into a quivering wreck every time her son Mr Fluffipants goes anywhere near her. I needed to order some more, so I prepared myself for the field of battle; I knew what I wanted and I had my card ready. I opened the site - Ok, I’ll give them that click! I clicked on Gato - call that click 1. I specified what I wanted - click 2. I chose the quantity - click 3. I ver-ed my carrito - click 4. How quickly did I want it delivered? Another click. I proceeded to Pagar, clicking no to insurance on the way - clicks 6 and 7. Here’s where it got really click-heavy, and I began to lose count; I filled in my name, colour of my eyes, bra size, name of my great grandmother on my father’s side - at least 3 clicks. I put in my card number - that was 4 clicks on its own by the time I’d specified which card, confirmed the number, filled in the expiry date and told them the secret number on the back. Here’s where it got really sticky. A rotating circle appeared with 10 in it. It didn’t take me long to work out that it meant 10 minutes. Apparently it wanted me to confirm my bank access code in response to the message it had just sent me on my phone. By some great act of God my phone not only pinged, but actually had the message on it. My bank access code is as long as an elephant’s trunk and securely hidden in the safe, which in itself is securely hidden - I’m not saying where, but it’s not a two minute job to get to it. Bearing in mind the rotating circle I flew back to the computer and filled in my access number. Here there was a nail-biting hiatus while I fathomed out how to communicate this information electronically. And when I did it took another 2 clicks to do so - I think, but by now I am in a state midway between panic and fury, and the rotating circle is down to 2minutes 4 seconds. But it wasn’t finished yet - did I want to continue shopping? NO not until Hell freezes over or the cat needs more plug-ins, which ever happens first! I might have lost count of the odd click or two, but I make it a total of at least 16 clicks! One click ordering? My arsenic sandwich toaster!
