From. N332 Have you ever read the following statement?; "You are not allowed to drive a foreign-registered car if you have a Spanish driving license." We would like to explain you the following; With a Spanish licence, it is allowed to drive foreign registered vehicles, unless you are the owner. In this case unless you have started the vehicle registration process, the Police will fine you and and the vehicle coud be impounded. The Spanish licence is an official document which proves that you are resident, so according to the law on special taxes you must register all your vehicles in the country where you are resident. Summarizing, the Spanish licence is internationally recognised, so you won´t have problems to use it all over the world, BUT remember that once you get your residency, apart from changing your licence, you will have to begin the process to register all your vehicles in the country.
