Jos Biggs. Not had a good week.

Jos Biggs has not been at all well this week. Take care please Jos !! It’s been a funny old week, and one I don’t care to repeat. I felt a bit quiet on Tuesday morning, and by Tuesday afternoon I decided I needed to put my feet up for a bit of a rest. By Tuesday night all hell had broken loose - there was no part of me that didn’t ail in one way or another. I realised that I needed medical soothing and comforting, assisted by whatever pills the doctor saw fit to prescribe. The problem was that I could no more have driven to the surgery than I could walk on water. And as I was 99% certain that what I had was a ‘breakthrough infection’, which is what they call it when you get Covid despite being vaccinated, I couldn’t ask anyone to take me. I waited until Thursday, when I felt a good deal better, and rang the Medical Centre. That afternoon Ernesto the doctor rang back. The only trouble with that was that by then I had completely lost my voice! However, he seemed to make some kind of sense out of my croaking and coughing, and prescribed a whole bagful of pills and potions. Enter my sainted neighbour Di, who fetched my pills for me and suggested that I eat something, and did I need any shopping? Fortunately I had shopped on Monday, so I had plenty of food in the house. Also, if you don’t eat it’s amazing how far the food stretches! I did manage to down 2 muffins, a slice of toast, a mashed potato and a chocolate. It all tasted foul, which is why I tried the chocolate - it also tasted foul! But I know I’m on the mend - today (Saturday) I ate a sausage, and it tasted of - sausage! Nevertheless I am going to isolate; I wouldn’t want to infect anyone else and put them through what I have just come out of. I am so glad that I’ve been double vaccinated, so only affected mildly! I’m hoping to rejoin the human race on the 26th, see you then!
