Posts from that day

From. Jos Biggs. Sorry day late.

Lovely to see our Jos Biggs back this week. With a  messege to many.

Now put your giggle reflexes on hold and instead search out your cloak of warm satisfaction. Sit down, throw it over your shoulders, get comfy, and I’ll begin.

I’ve not been a very happy bunny recently; in fact I’d go so far as to say that I’ve been as miserable as a wet hen.

Normally my little bits of stuff and nonsense tap dance happily off the keyboard pretty well spontaneously, but on this occasion this was not going to happen. I could have hauled something out of the archives, but even that was too much for me.

I don’t ‘do’ ill. It’s a place in which I am not happy, but fortunately if I do succumb I soon bounce back again.

However, on this occasion it was almost worth being ill. I was staggered, amazed and very very touched by the tsunami of sympathy that flowed my way from Facebook, from Messenger and from email. I hadn’t realised how many good-hearted people there were out there who would take the trouble to put finger to keyboard to wish me well and to offer help.

It’s not a trite platitude to say that it offered me comfort - it did, really. Living on my own does not bother me, I’ve got used to it. Normally I am content, happy even, to be the only occupant of my house. (The cats do not count, they don’t occupy the house, they treat it as a hotel.) But when I was feeling at my most poorly I felt so alone, I so needed the company of another human; someone to say there, there.

And that is electronically what I got - an unexpected number of there there’s. So thank you, each and every one of you, your there there’s gave me great comfort, and I am sure have speeded my recovery.

I’m not up to strength yet, I’m still quite weak. I go about in fear of kittens, in case one of them should wrestle me to the floor. However, I can pick up a sheet of A4 with one hand - the A3 size needs two hands to lift it - it’s so heavy!

I feel thin and feeble, as if someone has diluted me with water. They could have used wine!!

We have just had a man come down our road taking photos of the properties he told us that he came from the town hall and taking them for the IBA !

He said he has been asked to photograph new buildings so Colin told him ours is not new it’s 2014.

As this seemed strange we asked Alan to check with the Ayuntamiento.

The following was the reply :-

Hello, they are not members of the Town council. But Catastral said it would send its workers to visit new homes or home extensions to register them in the catastral. maybe this is what is happening.

Please be aware of this and ask questions or report if you are suspicious of someone. They should carry some form of ID.
