Challengers Raise €14k for Walk for Life
Once again Walk for Life were unable to have their annual Walk and replaced it with The 6k Any Way Challenge where people could walk, run, swim, cycle 6 kilometres when and wherever they chose. There were 26 individual challenges involving over 90 people. From a very difficult 1km walk to an arduous 36km swim over 6 weeks, they all gave their time and effort and raised an incredible €14,140.
The Walk for Life Committee are overwhelmed by people’s generosity in giving their time and their commitment and by the number of sponsors both private individuals and local companies who gave their money. We thank them all and assure them that this hard-earned money will be put to good use in helping to make life a little easier for people, in this area, who are affected by cancer. Let’s hope we can all come together next year at the annual Walk on Saturday 7th May.
This fantastic amount does not include the €2517raised by Richard Clarke and friends who walked to Saliente on May 16th.
Here are some photos of a few of the people taking part. You can see a full report with photos from every challenge on our website at www.walk4lifearboleas.com
