Information on Bees

When you see something like this, don't be afraid, don't call the fire department or the police, don't move and don't kill them.

These are just bees that travel and stop for only 24 hours.  Don't bother them and avoid getting close to them, they won't hurt you.

If you want to help, put a flat plate or tray with a little sugar water.  The bees will eat, gain energy and fly away.

We all have to protect migratory bees, they are our survival insurance.  Without bees, there will be no humans left on earth.FB_IMG_1654694429315

Alan Preston. Ukrainian Family

I'm often asked how are things with hosting your Ukrainian ladies.

Short answer - Brilliant! For a longer answer, please read below.

In contrast to the UK, there is no government funding for host or refugees. Correction - there is a pitiful funding for our Ukrainians of 100 euros each per month. Not enough to cover food costs

From your amazing generosity through bank transfer and GoFundme sites, we have been able to give them an additional monthly stipend. Currently we have enough funds until October. The ultimate goal is that the ladies can live independently of any charitable giving, and supplement the government funding with income from paid jobs. It would be wonderful if this became a reality this side of Christmas, but we will keep you updated.

I was sorry to learn that the ladies while their husbands are at war, they still have to pay their mortgages! One of them no longer has a home, it was burnt down through a rocket attack… but the mortgage still needs to be paid!

We have grown very fond of our live-in guests. They are such nice people, so accommodating and so grateful. In one sense we will be sorry to see them go home, but they live everyday with the expectation of being reunited with their loved ones.
