Jos Biggs. Sunday Treat

Whoops !! Jos Biggs forgot the date !! Remember, remember the first of November - one of the reddest of Spain’s Red Days, a day when everything everywhere is shut. I may be a little shaky on equations such as x=y-ab squared to the power of 6+14 might mean, but I do know beyond doubt that the first of November is a Red Day. I awoke on Monday feeling fairly human and determined to regain my place in the world. I arose, completed all the tasks dictated as necessary by common decency, such as brushing my teeth, washing and dressing, and moved on to the tasks dictated as necessary by the Good Housewife’s Guide to Hygienic Home Maintenance, such as the abolishment of dust and the capture and removal of cat hair and garden detritus as brought indoors on the furry undercarriage of Mr Fluffipants. Now I was ready to meet the main event of the day - Art class. I assembled my pad and pencils - I only draw, I don’t paint, painting involves too many accoutrements, and I’m not licensed for accoutrements. Thus loaded I set out, congratulating myself on having remembered both Henry’s key and to lock the door on exit. I have a drawing on the go, and I was looking forward to a morning of converting my planned rough outline into a ropey, but nevertheless completed work of art. As is my wont I took the back road into Albox and parked in my usual spot in the less popular parking places at the back of the main road. As I parked I noticed an absence of other vehicles - I could park virtually anywhere I liked, as long as I liked to park at the back of the hardware store. I wondered at this but put it down to the fact that I was a little early, and nobody else was quite up yet. I hefted my bag onto my shoulder and set off round the corner to the main road and my destination. As I rounded the corner it dawned on me - of course it’s quiet, it’s November the first! Fortunately there was nobody out and about who could witness my embarrassment as I made an abrupt turnabout and backtracked to Henry, bag still on shoulder! I knew: Art class is on a Monday. Monday 1st November is a Red Day. But I had not put the two facts together! What an idiot! I am not fit to be let out without a responsible adult to look after me!

vaccinations Latest from Junta de Andalucia.

From. Junta de Andalucía Andalusia opens the self-appointment agenda for any dose of the Covid vaccine. Thus, the citation option for second and third doses is expanded. The objectives are to advance the vaccination coverage of primary vaccination in the population without a complete schedule and to proceed with the administration of booster doses or third doses for those citizens who have it indicated. Thus, people with a current indication for any dose of coronavirus vaccines can obtain an appointment through the usual channels regardless of the dose that corresponds to them. Those population groups for which a specific active recruitment is proposed, as is the case of people institutionalized in nursing homes and people in group 7 currently expanded, will be directly cited by their reference centers, both in the hospital and care settings. Primary. This new application of the self-appointment will therefore benefit people of any age who want to start their vaccination with the first dose, those who need to complete the second dose of vaccination and people who need to administer a second additional or booster dose after the first dose of Janssen if more than three months have passed since the vaccination. In these cases of Janssen booster vaccine, the SAS has established a schedule for requesting appointments according to age. This schedule establishes that those over 70 can request their appointment now; from 60 to 69, from Monday, November 8; the 50-59 age band, on November 15; from 40 to 49, from November 22, and under 39 from 29 of this month. As always, this self-appointment can be made through the usual applications (ClicSalud + and App Salud Responde) and by telephone through Salud Responde and appointment at the health centers themselves. From. British Embassy in Madrid. Healthcare access & the Special Agreement Some of you have been asking about the Special Agreement recently, so here’s some further information. The scheme has a monthly fee and will give you access to state healthcare in Spain, as a resident. It may be a good option for those who have been living in Spain for a year or longer but don't have an automatic right to state healthcare (e.g. as a worker or state pensioner). It’s operated at a regional level, so for further information about how to apply and who is eligible, please contact your regional health authority.
