Apologies if this has already been posted, can’t remember where I downloaded it from.

Jos Biggs Sunday Story 30.5.21

Another Sunday Gem from Jos Biggs with a question for you at the end !!

Another Sunday gem from Jos Biggs  with a quedtion for you at the end !!!

Whether the weather be hot

Or whether the weather be not

We’ll weather the weather

Whatever the weather

Whether we like it or not!

We often seem to get the opposite weather to the UK. If it’s cold and wet in the UK it is most likely hot and dry here.

The reverse is also true – cold and wet here – sunny and warm in the UK.

The proportions work out about right – it is more often hot and dry here, whereas it is more often cold and wet in the UK.

This weekend, however, things seem to be a bit more in kilter – hot with the chance of a thunderstorm in the UK, according to Matt Taylor, though how he can call 25C hot I do not know! 25 is perfect!

As I gloomily watched the thermometer climb inexorably up to 30, and thus beyond my tolerance level I thought yes, that’s hot – pity we won’t get a thunderstorm.

With that a huge crack burst in on my musings, closely followed by Mr Fuffipants, travelling at the speed of light in his quest to hide where the thunder couldn’t find him.

Yeah! I thought. It won’t rain – that thunder is all mouth and trousers! With that it started to rain – huge drops, each one big enough to sustain a small goldfish.

There were no goldfish – I checked! Two minutes later there was no rain either!

However, I won’t need to water the garden this weekend – this will be the third weekend that I have been absolved from my watering duties!

But I will have to attack the garden with murderous intent – towards all weeds!

My three favourite weather forecasters are: Owain Wyn Evans, who can wear a three-piece suit like few others can.

Michael Fish, who has never been allowed to forget That forecast in 1987. If you don’t remember 1987 you are either too young, or you were having a helluva year!

And Jeremy Paxman!

Then of course there’s Carole Kirkwood – and don’t forget Ian Mc Caskell, and what about…..I’d better stop now!

Who are your favourite weather forecasters?
