‼️The government is extending the aid of fuel cost reduction by 20 cents per litre to all citizens‼️
- Of those 20 cents, 15 cents will be contributed by the state and the rest by the oil companies.
- This action is being taken as a response to the rise in fuel prices, and will be in force until the 30th of June.
The president, Pedro Sánchez, announced on Monday that the reduction of fuel by 20 cents per litre that was agreed with suppliers last week, is being extended to all citizens.
Therefore, the purchase of each litre of fuel will be discounted by a minimum of 20 cents, both from individuals and professionals, of which 15 cents will be provided by the state and the rest by the oil companies.
Last Friday morning, the government and the national road transport committee agreed on a reduction of fuel costs by 20 cents per litre until the 30th of June, but it was a measure that initially only affected professionals and would apply to diesel, petrol, gas and the 'AdBlue' additive.
- It was one of the measures that were implemented after several days of strikes held by haulers.
?In place until the 30th of June?
The measure is being taken in response to the sharp rise in fuel prices in recent weeks as a result of the war in Ukraine, and will be in place until the 30th of June, as highlighted by the president, Pedro Sánchez, during his speech at a meeting organized by Europa Press and McKinsey & Company in Madrid.
Sánchez has specified that in the share corresponding to the oil companies, a minimum of 5 cents is established, but the amount can be higher, and in this sense, he has noted that some operators are already applying "higher price reductions".
This measure is part of the shock plan that Sánchez has put forward and that will be approved this Tuesday in the council of ministers to alleviate the economic consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and will be enabled with 16,000 million euros.
