A story from the past from Jos Biggs. It's been a bit of a rough week for me, so I'm cheating and putting something up from my much enjoyed and much missed Juntando Letras. The Dance The sun shone down on the little stream as it flowed busily through the flower-filled meadow. All around stood tall larch, pine and spruce trees, still in the warmth of a perfect June day in the Highlands of Scotland. Tiny creatures filled the air, dancing, turning, rising and falling, never still, each one performing its own ballet, yet in harmony with the myriad of others that filled the tree-lined meadow. A young couple on their honeymoon strolled into the meadow, and stood looking around, hand-in-hand. ‘Isn’t it beautiful?’ queried the young man. ‘No!’ retorted the young woman, snatching her hand away, and waving it violently around her head. ‘I’m being eaten alive by all these midges! I told you we shouldn’t go to Scotland in June. We’d have been better off going to Skegness for our honeymoon.’ ‘But darling, it’s so romantic….’ ‘Pah!’ She said, turning on her heel and stamping out of the meadow. ‘I’m not staying here to be supper for these damn insects - I’m going back to the hotel. You do whatever you please.’ It was their first row.

Christmas Gift Appeal for the Children of Arboleas update: First shopping trip accomplished! We are still looking for donations of toys and chocolates (or money of course and we will shop for you) We have a deadline of Sunday 5th December for gift donations.
